Recently, the children in Year 3 visited the centre of Wakefield as part of their geography topic and took part in some fieldwork activities. First, the children went on a hunt to find the famous landmarks that they have been learning about in their lessons. Then, the children considered which area of the city was the most popular. In different groups, the children counted the footfall and will use this data in class. Lena said, “I really enjoyed coming face-to-face with the human and physical features of Wakefield that we have studied in class, such as the cathedral and the River Calder.” Miss O’Marr added, “It was great that the children remembered their work on OS map symbols when we did our fieldwork.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
