This year, our children celebrated World Book Day by reading a book called “Dear Earth” and they took part in lots of different activities about the story. Some children wrote persuasive speeches to convince others it was time to take care of our planet. Others celebrated the beauty of Earth through acrostic poems whilst one class created a musical soundtrack to celebrate the diversity of Earth. Iris said, “It’s an amazing book as it teaches people how fragile Earth is and how we should look after the planet. The illustrations are also stunning.” Amelia added, “In my speech, I talked about how the world is changing. Humanity could be its greatest threat if our generation don’t act now.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
