Recently, the children in year 5 took part in the third section of their citizenship award when they visited a local Methodist church. The aim of the visit was for our children to experience how they could support others in the community through their actions. They did this by planting decorative flowers outside the building and they also had the opportunity to serve desserts to some elderly residents. Mrs Shaw, the class teacher, said, “Year 5 behaved with the upmost respect and chatted to the residents about their lives and past events.” Bradley added, “I liked that we got chance to play bingo with some residents whilst they told us about what life was like at school when they were younger.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
