Last week, our eco- councillors hosted a special assembly to celebrate Earth Day and focus on the theme of “Our Power, Our Planet.” The assembly allowed children to recognise their ability to make a difference in the fight against the climate crisis through clean energy, everyday actions, and protecting our natural resources. The team have already started putting up posters to ensure our lights are turned off. During the assembly, Cayden said, “Plastic is made from oil and gas which aren’t clean energy sources like sun or wind.” Evelyn and Eva added, “Planting trees, plants and flowers is important for the planet as not only does it give food and homes for the animals but it also helps to create clean air for us all to breathe.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
