Recently, a local para athlete, Sean Gaffney, visited the school to talk about his amazing life and he also got the children to take part in some active fundraising activities. The children found out that Sean had his leg amputated more than 25 years ago but it hasn’t stopped him competing in the Invictus and Commonwealth Games. He talked about the resilience and determination needed to succeed. Esme said, “I really enjoyed doing the activities as we learnt new exercises and stretches that we could do at home!” Mr Jackson added, “Thank you to everyone for raising over £1300. We are going to use this money to buy more resources to support with keeping active outside.”
